Victories for men's firsts and development teams, debuts galore

What a weekend!

Eastern Rhinos continued their climb up the Southern Conference League ladder with a strong away performance at Hemel Stags, winning 30-16 and delivering the first back-to-back wins of the campaign. At the same time, the Rhinos 'A' team had its first hit-out of the year in a tough workout against newly-formed Canvey Knights at the Northern Gateway. The development side easing to a 40-12 victory over tough opponents.

On a Saturday that saw 36 players represent the senior sides, a highlight was the debut of 5 of the club's u18s players, none of whom looked out of place.

Sunday saw the club celebrate the debut of Rob Oakley in London Broncos' Championship win over Whitehaven, following Will Blakemore into the side in 2021. Rhinos' other Bronco - Jonah Varela - continues to play out on loan at London Skolars in League 1.

This coming weekend promises almost as much.

The buoyant first team take on the traditionally strong Hammersmith Hills Hoists at the Northern Gateway on Saturday afternoon, with each side pushing for a top-4 slot. That match-up is preceded by the return to action of the club's u18s side, who face Bedford Tigers in what is a crucial final game before the play-offs begin.
